Qualifying for the City of Washington, Georgia
Municipal Special Election
The City of Washington, Georgia, hereby announces that qualifying for the Municipal Special Election, which will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, will begin on August 4th and end on August 7th, 2025, from 8:30 am through 4:30 pm in the office of the City Clerk.
One (1) Council member will be elected from District 1 to fill the unexpired term of the late Councilman Maceo Mahoney, whose term will expire in December 2027. Qualification fees for council members will be $108.00.

Our water system recently violated a drinking water standard. Although this incident was not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we are doing to correct this situation.
