Mayor & City Council

The mayor and city council members are elected by city residents. They can be reached by phone at Washington City Hall at 706-678-3277 or at P.O. Box 9, Washington, GA 30673. The City Council holds its regular monthly meeting the second Monday of each month starting at 6:00 pm. Meeting location is the Edward B. Pope Conference Center at 48 Lexington Avenue, Washington, GA 30673 unless otherwise posted. Meetings are open to the public. Dates of City Council meetings in 2024 can be found by clicking here.     Family fishing event is Saturday, June 1st from 7AM to noon at Lake Boline! Free to the public. No fishing license required that day. Lake Boline is located 5 miles west of town at 280 Lake Boline Rd, Washington, GA 30673. Don't have fishing gear? No worries. There will be plenty of loaner equipment courtesy of Georgia DNR McDuffie Environmental Education Center.
